We are delighted when other people do us a favor. [There is no one who will not be delighted when other people do him a favor.] Therefore, I agree the statement that all citizens should be required to perform a specified amount of public service. In my point of view, to perform such service would benefit the nation, as well as the participants in virtue of enhancing the nation identification and leading the world to a better tomorrow.

First of all, to pay military service is a good way to develop a noble thought that all of us are in the same boat and we should defend the country away from invaders. I believe that patriotism will be aroused during the time and last to the rest of the life. Each year in the World Beauty Contest, beauties from Israel put on the military uniform as their traditional apparel because they believe Israel will exist only on the military power. Each Israeli, male and female, is obligatory to join the army and undergo the severe military training. No wonder Israelis are considered to be the most united nation.

In addition to unite all citizen, to perform public service can help preserve our environment. If each citizen is assigned an area and ordered to take care of it, our environment, I think, will be much clearer. What’s more, the government is no longer waste money on hiring labors. The environment is protected and money is saved. It is a win-win policy!

In conclusion, I agree that individuals should take part in public services. Although some might say to perform those services wastes time, the advantages outweigh disadvantages. The world will be better only by the efforts from each of us.
